Una pulsión de vida Ana María Millán

Artist Ana María Millán joins TBA21–Academy curator Sofia Lemos to discuss the process behind De lo líquido a lo acuoso (From liquid to watery), 2022-2023, a live action role-playing game (LARP) and digital animation co-commissioned by TBA21–Academy and TBA21 for st_age, in an artist talk that took place in Córdoba on November 12, 2021, as part of the TBA21–Academy convening “An Ocean Without Shore,” curated by Lemos.

The organization’s collaboration with Millán began in the Solomon Islands as part of a TBA21–Academy expedition in the framework of The Current II, led by Chus Martínez between April 14–28, 2019. Recently, we invited the artist to investigate the Guadalquivir valley in Andalusia, as part of TBA21–Academy’s artistic research program, Meandering for which Millán was invited to share her methodology through a LARP (live-action roleplay). A collaborative script developed from the game gave rise to a digital animation, which is now available for audiences to view on st_age.
