This research cluster gathers the references that have informed Emilija Škarnulytė’s video work Xirasia (2023), from the work of archaeologist and anthropologist Marija Gimbutas―which has been central to the thinking behind the work―to articles, academic papers, documentaries, and other types of materials informing the research of archaeological findings in the provinces of Huelva and Cadiz, in Andalusia, southern Spain, and of the many cultures that populated that area, with a special focus on the Tartessian culture. The cluster also includes speculative investigations on the possibility that the lost city of Atlantis could be found in this area.
