A fortuitous encounter in a bookshop in Mexico City with the Bengali author Rabindranath Tagore’s book Stray Birds (1916) in Catalan, signed the starting point of Laia Estruch’s performance, Ocells Perduts V67 (2022). This cluster contains this story and other references that are part of the research process of the artist: many works dealing with the performative use of the voice, including the punk Inuit throat singer Tanya Tagaq and the abstract and oneiric vocalizations of Beatriz Ferreyra, profiles of different researches on performance studies and poets; ornithological explorations, such as the case of Andalusian blind bird-listener Jose Carlos Sieres; or previous bird vocalizations as practiced by the American vocalist Joan La Barbara.
