This Research Cluster by Sonia Levy and Heather Anne Swanson brings together the research process behind Creatures of the Lines (2021). Immersing ourselves in turbid English canals, the cluster—which includes theoretical publications, academic papers, conferences, and other materials—provides insights on the more-than-human geographies of empire and capital, as well as research that analyses the lines formed by these processes. Economic and ecological relations that shape canals — global transit, biological homogenization, or the presence of introduced organisms— are featured within the materials of this cluster.
