This research cluster provides a comprehensive exploration of India’s environmental challenges with a focus on community-led movements. It features air pollution laws in India, and their historical and contemporary impacts on policy, governance and societal structures and realities. The research cluster features emerging discourses on the rights of nature frameworks and the collective global efforts to recognize and protect the rights of natural entities, including but not limited to rivers, forests, and ecosystems. This cluster aims to foster a deeper understanding of the interplay between humans, nature, and the urgent need for sustainable environmental practices in India and beyond.
