In this conversation Khoj International Artist’s Association’s Program Manager Isha Bhattacharya interviews Khoj Director Pooja Sood and theater director and lighting designer Zuleikha Chaudhari, two of the main figures behind In the matter Re: Rights of Nature – A Staged Hearing (2023), a fictional National Green Tribunal (NGT) hearing, an edition of which is now presented on TBA21 on st_age.

Sood discusses the trajectory of Khoj and its longstanding focus on the relationship between artistic practice and environmental activism, reviewing many of the projects that have constructed this bond. Chaudhari also comments on the performativity of the judicial representation, and on the motives, processes, and previous iterations of the staged hearing format.
