This research library brings together key texts from Diana Policarpo’s research into ergot mushrooms and the parasite’s role in the struggle for women’s reproductive and sexual health rights. The collection includes books by Barbara Ehrenreich and Deirdre English on witchcraft, midwifery, and medicine as well as Silvia Federici’s seminal feminist Marxist critique of property and control over women’s bodies. Other items include the Trans Health Zine “Power Makes Us Sick,” the magazine Gay Plants “Issue 1: Monsters,” online resources by transfeminist biohacker Paula Pin, videos on ergot as well as its relation to LSD, and journal articles on the role of ergot in the witch trials targeting women and Sámi shamans in Finnmark, Sápmi. Like Policarpo’s investigation, the research library spans several time periods and geographies, weaving a web of relations and encouraging further work in the field.
