Natalia Papaeva Artist
Natalia Papaeva is a Siberian-born performance video artist based in Rotterdam. She graduated from the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague (KABK) in 2018 with the video work Yokhor, winning both the department prize of the KABK and the TENT Academy Award. In 2019, Papaeva was shortlisted for the Sybren Hellinga art prize. In 2020, she received a ‘Stipendium for Emerging Artists’ from the Mondriaan Fund. In 2021, her solo exhibition ik ben took place at VHDG in Leeuwarden, The Netherlands. Group exhibitions and festivals include: No Common Sense (Dordor, New York, 2019), VIDEOFORMA VIII (Sergey Kuryokhin Center, St. Petersburg, 2020), and EURASIA – A Landscape of Mutability (M HKA, Museum of Contemporary Art, Antwerp, 2021).
