Camilo Jiménez Santofimio Journalist
A journalist, editor, culture and media manager with fifteen years’ experience in transmedia projects, Jiménez is also a consultant who sits on the steering committee of FLIP (Fundación para la Libertad de Prensa / Foundation for Press Freedom), the editorial board for La Liga Contra el Silencio (League Against Silence) and the advisory committee for the Pulitzer Center’s Amazon Rainforest Journalism Fund. Between 2018 and 2020 he was director-general of Arcadia, Grupo Semana’s creative and cultural platform. He is also a former Content Manager for Vice Media in Colombia; a correspondent, reporter and editor of the journal Semana; editor and contributor to the newspapers Süddeutsche Zeitung and Die Zeit. He has created and run projects to defend and promote civil, social and democratic causes such as the Candidater app, the Pacifista! platform for the peace process in Colombia, the Divergentes digital civil society project and also Arcadia’s transmedia innovation strategy. Between 2009 and 2011 he received a scholarship for the training programme for journalists and editors run by Süddeutscher Verlag (publishers of Süddeutsche Zeitung). Jiménez studied Philosophy and Modern and Contemporary History at the Humboldt University in Berlin, where he lived for eleven years.
